A Chunk of Chile with a Dash of South America

Living and travelling in South America from our base in Chile since 1997. I have personally experienced the extremes here, living in a shed without a bathroom in a poor dangerous part of town to the other extreme of having an elegant dinner with the President at the palace. This blog is about things that I have done or that have caught my attention here as well as travel information that may be useful.

Galapagos Islands - Ecuador

We have a new page about the fascinating Galapagos Islands that are 965km off the coast of Ecuador. These islands are teeming with species that won't be found in any other part of the world. In fact, these islands inspired Charles Darwin's theory about Evolution in 1835.

You can find more information and traveler's tips about the islands here:

Just coming back from a cruise to Galapagos. I personnaly don't think it's necessary to bring bottled water on board. On the boat I was (Angelique, which was economic class) as for other boats, drinking water is furnished without any cost. Something else, it's pretty difficult to know in advance about the guide you'll have. It's more a question of luck...
