A Chunk of Chile with a Dash of South America

Living and travelling in South America from our base in Chile since 1997. I have personally experienced the extremes here, living in a shed without a bathroom in a poor dangerous part of town to the other extreme of having an elegant dinner with the President at the palace. This blog is about things that I have done or that have caught my attention here as well as travel information that may be useful.

Puerto Montt Visit

Rob Woodward and Angelica Prieto from www.southamerica.cl will be visiting the city of Puerto Montt in the South of Chile to do an intensive investigation of where to stay, where to eat and what to do in and around the city for our website.
We will fly there on Friday morning (9th May) and coming back on Sunday afternoon (11th May).
If anyone has any recommendations of places to visit in Puerto Montt (including hotels, hostels and restaurants), please let us know.

I know it may not be the best time to go there right now since there are now an extra 4000 people in town that have been evacuated from Chaiten due to the massive volcano eruption in that area but the tickets had already been booked.
