A Chunk of Chile with a Dash of South America

Living and travelling in South America from our base in Chile since 1997. I have personally experienced the extremes here, living in a shed without a bathroom in a poor dangerous part of town to the other extreme of having an elegant dinner with the President at the palace. This blog is about things that I have done or that have caught my attention here as well as travel information that may be useful.

Huilquilemu Guide and Photos

We have just returned from our trip to Talca and surrounding areas where we have been for the last week and I can say that we have loads of photos, videos, notes and tips about what to do and see in the Maule region.

Something that I put together today is a collection of photos online to do with the Huilquilemu.
Where is that I here you say? Well it's just 10 km east of Talca on the way to San Clemente.
What makes it so special? It's an old colonial house dating back to 1850 which has been converted into a museum. The original owner of the house actually owned all the land between Talca and Argentina. That was a fair-sized chunk of Chile!

For more information about this interesting museum, check out: Huilquilemu

Hope you enjoy it.
