A Chunk of Chile with a Dash of South America

Living and travelling in South America from our base in Chile since 1997. I have personally experienced the extremes here, living in a shed without a bathroom in a poor dangerous part of town to the other extreme of having an elegant dinner with the President at the palace. This blog is about things that I have done or that have caught my attention here as well as travel information that may be useful.

Bariloche Argentina

We finally have a new page about Bariloche in Southern Argentina.

This city feels like you have suddenly been transported to somewhere in the middle of the Swiss Alps (including the amazing chocolate they have). It's a great place to go skiing and it is also the base camp to start exploring Patagonia.

Hope you find it useful.

Ski Centers in Chile

It's that time of year again where everyone starts heading to the mountains.

The imposing Andes Mountains actually look quite inviting after the recently dumping of snow on them. There has been a bit of rain of late and some cold fronts coming from down south which has finally kicked off the 2007 ski season up in the Andes.

So in honour of the new 'Snow Fever' we have created another page on our South America Site about the 5 main ski fields in Chile:

Ski Centers in Chile

Eventually we will create an individual page for each ski center with more detailed instructions of how to get there and what they are like (with photos included), though meanwhile there should be enough on our new Ski Centers in Chile page to whet the appetite.

Saludos
