A Chunk of Chile with a Dash of South America

Living and travelling in South America from our base in Chile since 1997. I have personally experienced the extremes here, living in a shed without a bathroom in a poor dangerous part of town to the other extreme of having an elegant dinner with the President at the palace. This blog is about things that I have done or that have caught my attention here as well as travel information that may be useful.

South America Social Network

To Celebrate my 101st Blog Post I would like to announce the release of our New South America Social Network called SouthAmerica.ME

It’s a project that has kept me from writing on this blog of late and also the surprise that I mentioned in an earlier post.

So what is SouthAmerica.Me?
It’s similar to Facebook where you can keep in contact with friends but it has many more interesting features:
  • You can have your own blog.
  • You can create your own webpages which can be edited collectively or individually, depending on your preferences.
  • You can form groups and make pages about that group (Groups can be open or closed).
  • There is a site-wide twitter message system that can also be linked to post in your real twitter account.
  • You can upload photos and more and decide who can see them.
  • There is a bookmark system
  • And much more…

SouthAmerica.ME is aimed at:
  • Expats in South America
  • Students doing an exchange here.
  • Spanish and Portuguese language students
  • Backpackers roaming the continent
  • Anyone having anything remotely involved with this fascinating part of the world.

Most importantly it is a place to share experiences of living in or traveling through South America.

Hope you enjoy it!

XIII Salón Internacional de Turismo

XIII Salón Internacional de Turismo

Woodward South America visited the 13th International Tourism Fair in Santiago Chile today. There was a wealth of information to do with all the different regions of Chile as well as many other South American countries. We talked to many people and got a lot of information that will be useful for our southamerica.cl site, especially about countries other than Chile which is where we wanted to start working on a bit more.

Today was only open to those in the Tourism Industry but tomorrow it will be open to the general public so you might want to go along to check things out.

This year it is at the Centro de Convenciones Espacio Riesco (Espacio Riesco Convention Center).

South America Website now up and running

Our website about South America is now online and is available to everyone. You may find a few gaps here and there though they should be corrected in the next couple of days.

Most of the information we have for now is about Chile due to having lived here for the last 10 years. We are in the process of adding a lot more information about the other countries of this fascinating continent when we can. This site will always be in a state of growth as we strive to find more useful information for travellers coming this way.

Feel free to have a look around and stayed tuned as we add a lot more content over the next days including many photos we have.

You can enter it here: http://www.SouthAmerica.cl

Enjoy!!!
